It was 2012.
I had a Toshiba laptop that I was happy with, but it was getting old and breaking down.
For whatever reason, I got it into my head that I wanted — NEEDED — a Macbook Air. (Why did I want it? I have no idea. But now I’m a semi-writer, so maybe that’s why.)
It might as well have cost a million dollars at the time because my husband and I didn’t have enough money for one. It cost 1/4 of what we had in our bank account.
But I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I was obsessed. I KNEW I would have one somehow.
Fast forward…
One day my husband came home from work and said there was a sweepstakes at the local casino for Macbook Airs.
Ding, ding, ding!
This was the answer I was waiting for! Before I left for the casino that day, I cleared off my desk and dusted it. I was getting ready to put my new laptop there. I made room for it.
Then I headed to the casino, and guess what happened?
I didn’t win the sweepstakes.
But…
As I was walking around playing different games, I “heard” a clear and distinct voice in my head say, “Why don’t you play a slot machine with a jackpot?”
I sat down at a Grease-themed machine, hit the button a few times, and ended up winning the grand jackpot.
It was over $12,000.
(The machine sang “You’re the one that I want” as I waited for the attendent to come over and pay me. I’ll never forget that song. lol)
I ended up getting my Macbook Air that night!
The circumstances for that event to happen were lined up so perfectly that it defies logic.
It was the voice that was really interesting to me.
So far, that’s the only time I’ve heard a voice like that. It told me exactly what I needed to do and I was led to the perfect event at the perfect time.
